The Doctrines of Grace: Limited Atonement

The Doctrines of Grace: Limited Atonement

Greater Love Reformed Baptist Church
20926 S Main St, Carson, CA 90745
Sundays @ 9:30am

What is/was the extent of the Jesus' Atonement? Was it for everyone? Was it to make salvation available to all? Was it to actually secure the salvation of all the elect? What was Jesus' reason for going to Calvary. Here, brother Griffin examines the text and asks some important questions about the subject.

John 17:6-9 (ESV)
6  “I have manifested your name to the people whom you gave me out of the world. Yours they were, and you gave them to me, and they have kept your word.

7  Now they know that everything that you have given me is from you.

8  For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me.

9  I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

The Doctrines of Grace: Limited Atonement

Here are some important questions....

1.) Who did Christ die for?
2.) Did he actually save someone who had not yet been born?
3.) Can anyone and everyone absolutely be saved?
4.) Will EVERYONE, absolutely be saved?
5.) Did Jesus himself say people would go to hell?

Okay, maybe you've NEVER asked any of these question nor thought about them. But now think about them. In our series we've discovered that: 1.) all mankind have fallen in Adam and a holy and just God has the right and responsibility to throw them all into hell, 2.) God before the foundation of the world has chosen some to be saved from His wrath.... now we learn what means God provided to take our place for punishment - and does this means cover all mankind or some of mankind? This episode of Bringing the Word we cover the "L" in the T.U.L.I.P. acronym. Limited Atonement.

Heres a short study text to help...

John 17:9 (ESV)
9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours.

Doctrines of Grace: Unconditional Election

Unconditional Election?

What the Bible really mean when it says "...even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love..." Did God select people before they were born for something? Does it mean that God chooses salvation or man chooses salvation? What does this choosing have to do with your freewill? Listen as Paul Starks digs deep into this topic and lets see if it holds up to the light of scripture or not.

Comment below... we're waiting to hear from you!

The Doctrines of Grace: Total Depravity

TOTAL DEPRAVITY?

The first of our dissection of the biblical teaching called the Doctrines of Grace, otherwise known as T.U.L.I.P and sometimes called Calvinism. Here Pastor Paul L. Starks breaks down the CHristian teaching one piece at a time. This discussion is the foundation of the entire teaching. Total Depravity. Listen in as Pastor Starks explains what Total Depravity is mean, how it affects the unbeliever and how this plays a significant part in God's salvation story with man. Have you ever thought you were just not all that good? Have you ever wondered why the world seems so destitute and hopeless? Is man getting any better? Is man basically good? The preacher on T.V. said I'm great, but what does the bible say about me? If you were ever confused or just unsure about any of these types of questions, this may be the very Godsend answer you have been looking for. Starks dissects this OLD CHRISTIAN teaching and breaks it down and make it easy enough for anyone to grasp. COMPLETE WITH SCRIPTURE AND REFERENCES! LISTEN IN!
